Free Indie

This is a shout out echoing one of my links on the side of the page. I've just spent the last hour searching the archives of the freeindie.com, which reinforced my love for the site. This site is run by some college student, and he talks to bands, gets permission to have their music on his site, then puts three to five tracks up for free download. Perfect for anyone who has ever felt guilty for "stealing" music.

Obviously, this is mostly in the indie genre, but he's featured some pretty big indie bands such as the Decemberists, Bright Eyes, the Postal Service, and Ted Leo and the Pharmacists.

I love this site not only because they provide me with the aforementioned "mainstream" indie music, but also because he features uncommonly known bands. I'm now a fan of We All Have Hooks For Hands--some 9-man band with ridiculously catchy songs--and of course Harry and the Potters, both of which were featured in the last few months.

I just downloaded some Andrew Bird tracks from here, which excited me because I'd heard that he's someone to watch.

I would very much recommend this site to anyone who loves music, free stuff, and good reviews. Go now: www.freeindie.com

Well I did find some Harry and the Potters . . .Speaking of which, I like how half of the links on your page are devoted to Harry Potter. It makes me Happy!
